Description
Presented is an interesting silver pitcher or ewer with underplate. This is afairly modern piece, dating to around the 1960s-1980s, and is likely of South
American make, though we aren't sure. The pitcher is beautifully hand chased
with ornate designs of rich flowers and scrolled foliage surrounded by a trellis
pattern, all finely textured and detailed. The underplate has a lotus petal
design, with a repeating floral pattern on alternating sides of the 'petals.'
These pieces are clean as can be and ready to be a great addition to your home's
decor.
This piece is in great condition. The details of the designs are nice and
crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monograms, no
monogram removals, and no repairs.
The pitcher is stamped 900 for the purity of the silver on the base, next to
a maker's mark or other hallmark we unfortunately do not recognize. The plate is
also stamped 900 on the upper side, as well as a maker's mark or other mark of
'DARIC'.
The underplate has a diameter of about 12 inches. The pitcher is about 14 1/8
inches tall.
The total weight is 1328 grams or 46.8 regular ounces.
