Ingredients: P umice, Lava Rock, Black Lava Rock, Zeolite, Vegetable carbon, Slow-release fertilizer (specific for indoor plants) How is it different from Regular Lechuza Pon? - It has all the same properties but also comes with Black Lava Rock which many growers prefer over regular lava rock as it contains more minerals. The product also has carbon (Charcoal). Carbon has been classified as an essential additive for soils for centuries! This shipment just arrived for us and we are super excited to start experimenting with it to see the results. Please note, this product costs significantly more money than regular Lechuza Pon and for now, we are purchasing it on a trial basis to see if we want to keep it in stock on a continuous basis. This mineral based plant substrate offers excellent drainage properties which ensures optimal root aeration and allows your plant to flourish. The substrate provides a stable pH value and the absorbent properties of the mix allow it to act as a reservoir to store water and nutrients, releasing them back to the plants as needed. Lechuza Pon does not compact or clump and its mineral base deters fungi and a large number of soil born pests such as fungus gnats. Pon is ideal for allergy sufferers. Please be aware Lechuza Pon is also enriched to feed your plants for 6 months, after which you will need to start applying fertilizer to feed your plants. Our analysis of the feed used determined the feeding is very light, if you are growing greedy plants or fast growers, you will probably want to consider applying additional fertilizer. Lechuza advises in their marketing it is impossible to overwater when you use their product and water logging will never be an issue. This most certainly is true, but if you are growing in decorative containers that do not allow water to drain when you need it to drain, it doesn't matter what you are growing in, standing water is standing water! Please also note if you are using this Pon for very heavy feeders, it is strongly recommended you supplement from an early stage with additional fertilizer. If you are using it for low nutritional need plants, you should not need to worry about feeding for at least 5-6 months. The pure mineral plant substrate with natural charcoal and black lava features an exceptional dark colour. It is the ideal alternative to conventional potting soil, as it is structurally stable, supports root aeration and optimally dosed water supply. Thus, it is in no way inferior to the conventional plant substrates of LECHUZA: pumice, lava and zeolite ensure high drainage ability and water storage and can thus reliably supply plants with a sufficient amount of water.
